![]() WELCOME--or MABUHAY, as they say in the Philippines! I am looking forward to having you in the course, and I hope you all have lots of fun with it (as well as learning lots)! First things first, though--what do you need to know to complete the course? In part, this is a technical question, about how to even manage an online course, and about how Blackboard (the course platform we are using--our "classroom", in essence) works. If you haven't yet disabled your browser's pop-blocker and enabled javascript, please do so now. You can get help via Blackboard's browser tune-up page. You also need to make sure you have the QuickTime video plug-in and Adobe Acrobat reader. If you haven't done so yet, please begin by viewing Cabrillo's Blackboard info. site. There is a helpline at the bottom of the webpage, if you are having trouble with Blackboard. You might find this tutorial on how to use Blackboard (or Webct) useful. You also need to know my expectations--read over the next few pages. ![]() |
