Sep 24 Wed morn 3:42am and 4:12am. Double graze from 6s Pt. Lobos or south of Hollister: 7.6 and 8.6 2n 25- moon, alt=19 and 24 deg.
Sept 26-28 - Astro 28Z: Field Astronomy at Mono Hot Springs. Astronomical highlight is Sunday morn 3am - Occultation of 11.8 red star by Klotilde. Nominal path is Ponderosa Campground at Big Sur through Kings Canyon National Park. Mono Hot Springs is inside the northern 1-sigma path limit.

Oct 23 Thur eve - Occultation of 11.9 star by Sophrysone, from Barstow. 22- moon, 21 altitude.
Oct 29 Wed eve - Occultation of 11.2 star by Leukothea, from Big Sur and Pinnacles.
Nov 13 Thur eve - Occultation of 12.6 star by Alauda from Carrizo Plain. Very high rank, but 39 deg from full moon.

Dec 10 Wed eve 11:45pm - Plieades Occultation: a 5.5 graze 15s from Castroville, with good profile, and 28 min later, a 7.2 graze from 3 miles further north.

Mar 6 Fri eve - Good weekend for a Pt. Reyes weekend kayak trip plus astronomy. Friday eve is a graze of 9.4 star 9n 81+ moon from Pt. Reyes ridge line north of Hostel. Sat eve - Graze of 3.9 star 7n 89+ moon from Pt. Reyes headlands (barely) or edge of Mt. Diablo State Park. Possible Astro 28, although this graze is the ONLY astronomy we could do, unless I come up with some visual lunar exploration projects. Here's the page for all this.
Mar 16 Mon eve 11:15pm - Occultation of 11.9 star by Klotilda, from Santa Cruz. 68- moon.
Mar 20-22: Astro 28L "Field Astronomy in Southern Big Sur" revisited. Highlights: Venus is a 3% evening cresent setting well north of sun. Comet Lulin in Gemini at 7th magnitude good for photography and viewing. Moon 28-.
Mar 30 Mon morn 3:15am - Occultation of 10.3 star by Poleungkuk, from Monterey Bay area. 16+ moon, poor rank

May 1 Fri eve - Graze of 9.4 star 17N of 53+ moon, at Olema near Pt. Reyes. Possible Astro 28 course choice. Here's a webpage on this.
May 6 Wed eve 11pm - Occultation of 11.8 star from Santa Cruz and coast by Lampetia. Moon 96-.
May 15-17 Fri-Sun - Astro 28U "Field Astronomy at the Giant Sequoias" revisited. Last quarter moon rises at 1:30am Saturday morning, and after 2am Sunday.
May 20 Wed morn 12:30am - Occultation of 9.5 star by Praxadis, from Nevada City, Chico area
May 26 Tue eve 10:45pm - Occultation of 9.4 star by asteroid California, from Bay Area.
Aug 14 Fri morn 2am - Perfect occultation of the Plieades on 41- moon. Graze of 3.6 star 6N of 43- moon at alt=17 from Half Moon Bay
