Scholarships
Students in the Archaeological Technology Program are encouraged to apply for these and the many other scholarships offered by or through the Cabrillo College Foundation. The Archaeological Program offers three scholarships, one in conjunction with a local archaeology group. All Scholarships are awarded on merit as judged by grades and demonstrated performance: Need is assumed.
  1. The Howard Bickford Scholarship
    Created by the Santa Cruz Archaeological Society. The society's primary goals are archaeological preservation and public education. Requirements: Student must have completed (upon award) 6 units in Anthropology. Student must be planning to transfer to a four-year institution. Award will be made upon proof of enrollment in a four-year school.
  2. Ann Orozco Native American Scholarship
    Requirements: Students descended from non-local groups must be at least 1/4 Native American. First preference is given to students/descendants recommended by a local Native Californian group.
  3. Ruth Edwards Memorial Scholarship
    Requirements: Student must be a re-entry student. Student must major in anthropology, archaeology and/or education. Award can be used at Cabrillo or taken to a four-year institution.
