Bob Kittle, Head Coach

Coach Kittle begins his 7th year as the Head Coach at Cabrillo College. For 13 years from 1997-2009, Coach Kittle was the Head Coach at Santa Cruz High School. In the last 6 years, the Hawks have been to the playoffs 5 straight years (1st time in school history), winning a conference title in 2013 and 2014, as well as and advancing to the Super Regionals in 2013, 2014, 2015.

At Santa Cruz High, the Cardinals won 8 league titles, had 3 appearances in the CCS Finals and won 1 CCS title.  During the 13 years, 47 players went on to play 4 year college baseball, w 12 earning Div 1 scholarships. 

Prior to Santa Cruz High, Kittle coached at Downey (CA) HS from 1994-96, coaching football, basketball and baseball.  In 1993, Kittle assisted at Whittier College as the hitting coach. He was also an assistant coach at Springfield College (MA), while earning his Masters degree.  Coach Kittle played 4 years at Whittier College as a 1st/3rd basemen.


Coach Kittle earned his B.A. (History) from Whittier College in 1991 and his M.Ed  (Sports Management) from Springfield College in 1992.  He resides in Ben Lomond with his wife of 15 years Tami and his daughters Jordan and Taylor.

Mike DiTano, Pitching Coach

Coach DiTano begins his 7th year at Cabrillo. Coach D coached @ Santa Cruz High for 25 years with Coach Bill Dodge and Coach Kittle. Mike also graduated from Santa Cruz High and played for legendary Coach Dodge.

Mike attended and played at Cabrillo College prior to becoming a firefighter and is currently a fire training chief for the city of Santa Cruz.  He resides in Santa Cruz with his wife Joleene and son Kevin.



Dylan Gavin, Academic Advisor

Coach Gavin will be in his 4th year with the Hawks. Dylan was part of the 1st recruiting class for the Univ of Oregon, where he also rec'd the academic award for their players. Dylan was a member of the San Luis Blues summer team and was an all star there. In the inception of the Hawk Study hall, the team GPA was a 3.1.

Coach Gavin played for Coach Kittle @ Santa Cruz High, where he was a 3 year starter and 3 time all league member.  Dylan lives in Capitola and is single.


Anthony Austin, Asst. Coach Catchers/Recruiting Coordinator

Coach Austin begins his 4rd season for the Hawks. Anthony will be the 3rd base coach, catching coach and recruiting coordiantor for the Hawks.

Coach Austin graduated from Live Oak HS and earned his AA while playing for the Hawks as a 1st team conference player. Anthony resides in Capitola and is single.


Jeff Pritchard, Offensive Coordinator

Coach Pritchard joins the Hawks for his 2nd season, as he will be responsible for the entire offense. Pritch's resume is large: he played at Hancock JC and USF. Played professionaly and coached at Sf St (02-05), Cal (06), Santa Clara (07) and was recruiting coordinator and hitting coach at San Jose St (08-12).

Pritch graduated from RLS and USF and earned his Masters in English from Sf St. Pritch resides in San Jose with his wife Carrie and two children Peyton (5) and Tanner (2).


Art Hunsdorfer, Asst Coach

Coach Huntsdorfer joins the Hawk staff for his 1st season after 30 years of coaching at the HS level and the last 21 years as the head coach at Salinas HS.

At Salinas, his teams made the CCS Playoffs for 18 of the 21 years with 66 College players 10 professional players and 3 Major Leaguers.

Coach Hunstdorfer earned his BA and MA from Fresno St and also carries a Doctorate degree.  Art lives in Salinas with wife Jennifer and has four kids, Julianne, Christopher, Nathaniel, and Alanah.


Nick Silvestri, Strength and Conditioning

Coach Silvestri is in his 2nd year with Cabrillo Baseball and is in charge of the strength and conditioning for the position players.  Nick has a Bachelors degree from UC Berkeley and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA.  Nick grew up in Watsonville where he developed his passion for sports related physical fitness. 

Nick is single, and resides in Watsonville.



Jerry Skolnik, Dugout Manager

Jerry begins his 4th year with the Hawks. Jerry serves as a motivation leader and goodluck charm here at Cabrillo. Jerry is currently a senior at Santa Cruz high school. In 2014, Jerry was in Maui working with Baldwin high school and their sports programs. He is an awesome kid with and even bigger heart who enjoys being at the ball field and around the guys

He currently resides in Santa Cruz, California and is single.
