Cabrillo
kicked off the 2004-2005 season with a win, defeating Skyline College
67-45. The Seahawks (1-0) were able to counter a quick, athletic

with 17. Mateja Dicic scored 16 points and Julian Hatcher added

Game
#2 - Seahawks Fall Short in Home Opener; Lose to #12 Chabot 67-74
Cabrillo
ended up on the wrong end of an exciting, down-to-the-wire game on Wednesday
night in Aptos, losing to Chabot College 67-74. Chabot (1-0) knocked
down a barrage of 3-point shots in the 2nd half and capitalized on some
late Cabrillo turnovers to hold off a late Seahawk charge.
Maurice Miller led Cabrillo (1-1) with 33 points (including six 3-pointers)
and 9 rebounds.
It
was a see-saw game all the way through. An early 11-0 run put
Cabrillo in front 11-3. Cabrillo stretched the lead to as many
as 12 points before Chabot took the lead with 45 sec. left in the 1st
half. After trailing 31-34 at the half, Cabrillo used a 13-6 run
to take a 4-point lead, 44-40 at the 13:50 mark. However, Chabot
then used a 23-8 run to take a 63-52 lead with 6:02 remaining.
The Seahawks managed to put together one more run over the next 4:22,
pulling to within 3 points at 65-68 with 1:40 to go. But that
was as close as they'd get as Chabot finished strong and held off the
'Hawks in the closing seconds.

4 first-half field goals on their way to a 35-18 halftime lead.
