GAME 28 - SEAHAWKS COME UP SHORT, LOSE AT FCC 70-64......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks came up a little short tonight in Fresno 70-64. The Seahawks the #8 seed in the NorCal Regional Final game were looking to advance to the Final Four in Sacramento next weekend. Instead the #5 seed Fresno City College Rams will advance and be one of the two representatives from the North. The Seahawks jumped out to an early lead tonight only to see FCC cut into the lead. Cabrillo went in at the half up 35-32.
In the second half Cabrillo enjoyed an 8 point lead with 10:00 minutes to go but could not extend their lead. The Seahawks were up one with 2:15 to go but could not get a stop. Seahawks found themselves down one with 1:57 to go and got several open looks from the 3 pt. arc and at the rim but could not convert down the stretch. The Seahawks were forced to foul for the six point final deficit.
The lose ends Cabrillo's season with a final record of 24-4. The best by percentage in school history. Their fourth Coast Conference South Championship in the last six years. This year as an undefeated Champion for the first time in school history. The Seahawks #8 seed is the highest seed in school history and resulted in the first ever home playoff game in school history. The Seahawks stunning second round Regional Semi-Final win at last years State Defending Champion, City College of San Francisco and this years #1 seed, was the first time in school history a Cabrillo team had beaten the #1 team in the State.
GAME 27 - SEAHAWKS WIN THRILLER AT #1 CCSF IN OT 76-70.......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks won tonight at the City College of San Francisco 76-70 in overtime. Cabrillo (24-3) extended their win streak to sixteen in a row. The Seahawks, behind the oustanding play and 12 points from Aaron Short, kept the Rams at bay and went in at the half up 34-33.
The second half was back and forth all night with no team leading by more than four. CCSF (27-3) took a four point lead with 8:32 but Cabrillo came right back after a timeout to tie the score and take a four point lead of their own with 4:25 to play. CCSF hit a 3 pt. shot and cut the lead to one with 1:29 to play.
Cabrillo misses their own 3 pt. shot and fouls. CCSF connects on one of two to tie the game with :41 to play. CCSF forces a five second violation on the inbounds which now gives CCSF the ball under their own basket. They score on a dunk to go up two. Cabrillo gets an offensive rebound put back and gets fouled. Thomas Pierce converts the free throw to go up one with
6.1 to go. CCSF called timeout and went to the basket and got fouled with 1.0 second to play down one. CCSF converted the second of the two throws to tie the game at 62.
CCSF won the tip and immediately hit a baseline jumper and was fouled but they missed the free throw attempt. Cabrillo's Tyler Velasquez was fouled and made one of two. CCSF hits a three to go up four. Tyler Velasquez connects on a three of his own to cut the lead to one. Aaron Short makes a steal but misses the layup and CCSF fouls while trying to convert the missed layup into a layup of their own resulting in Cabrillo getting possession back. The Seahawks score on a backcut layup to Aaron Short from Velasquez to take the lead by one. CCSF hits a tough floater to take the lead back by one. Aaron Short hits a deep three to put the Seahawks up two. CCSF misses their 3 pt. shot attempt and Cabrillo takes one of their own but Frank Rogers is fouled trying to offensive rebound and goes to the line in the double bonus. Rogers makes the first and misses the second to put the Seahawks up two. CCSF attacked the basket and was fouled but only converted one of two. Tyler Velasquez converted a dribble drive layup to put the Seahawks up four with
:29 to go. Velasquez steals the ball but gets tied up. Possession arrow to Seahawks. Seahawks get ball under own basket with :21 to go. Seahawks turn it over on inbounds as CCSF is running out for a layup but Frank Rogers steals ball at mid court and advances the ball Aaron Short who is fouled with :14 to go. Short hits both to go up six 76-70.
Tyler Velasquez lead the Seahawks in scoring with 24 points. Aaron Short scored 19. Thomas Pierce had 16 and Frank Rogers scored 14.

GAME 26 - SEAHAWKS HANG ON, BEAT FOOTHILL 65-63 IN OT.....
The Cabrillo College Seahawks extended their winning streak to 15 games tonight with an exciting 65-63 win in overtime over Foothill College (Los Altos Hills). The Seahawks (23-3, 12-0) really struggled tonight in the first half. Due in part to the standing room only crowd of Cabrillo fans cheering on the Seahawks in what was the first NorCal playoff game ever hosted by Cabrillo in school history. The atmosphere took some getting used to by the Cabrillo players but they managed to go in at the half up 3 29-26.
In the second half, the Seahawks took control of the game extended leads to as many as seven but the Foothill College
Owls (18-11, 6-6) team would not go away. The Seahawks had a 3 pt lead with :14 to go and the ball but turned it over giving the Owls a chance to tie. Foothill converted a 3 pt basket with 5.1 to go. Cabrillo could not get off a shot and the game went to overtime.
Foothill immediately hit a 3 to start the period but Tyler Velasquez came right back with one of his own. Aaron Short also sank a 3 pt. shot to give the Seahawks a cushion and the win.The Cabrillo crowd played a huge role in the win tonight. The atmosphere was unlike anything anyone has seen in the Cabrillo gym in many, many years.
Aaron Short and Tyler Velasquez led all scorers with 21 points each. Thomas Pierce added 8.
GAME 25 - CABRILLO FINISHES PERFECT WITH 77-58 WIN AT MPC........
The Cabrillo College Seahawks made Cabrillo College basketball history tonight with an impressive 77-58 win over Monterey Peninsula College in Monterey. Cabrillo (22-3, 12-0) finished Coast Conference South play undefeated for the first time in school history. The Seahawks jumped all over MPC (13-14, 7-5) tonight behind nine made 3 pt. baskets. Cabrillo went in at the half up 41-25.
In the second half, MPC came out on fire hitting their first six shots and cut into the lead. The Seahawks came back with a run of their own and pushed the lead to as many as 20 midway thru the second half. The lead was never threatened after that point.

GAME 24 - SEAHAWKS BEAT GAVILAN 67-54 IN APTOS......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks extended their winning streak to 13 straight tonight with a 67-54 win over Gavilan College (Gilroy). Cabrillo (21-3, 11-0) jumped all over the Rams tonight early and coasted to a 30 point lead at the half 50-20.
In the second, Cabrillo primarily went to their bench and gave major minutes to some of their little used players. Gavilan (1-21, 0-11) continued to play hard and outscored Cabrillo 34-17 in the second half.

GAME 23 - CABRILLO TAKES CARE OF DE ANZA 75-53...........
The Cabrillo College Seahawks ran their win streak to 12 straight with an impressive 75-53 win over DeAnza College (Cupertino) in Aptos. The win clinches another outright Coast Conference South Championship for the Seahawks. Cabrillo (20-3, 10-0) jumped all over the Dons (13-11, 5-5) tonight behind the play of Thomas Pierce and his 12 first half points and Tyler Velasquez connecting on 3 3 pt. baskets. The Seahawks took a 41-24 lead into the locker room at the half.
The second was no different as Cabrillo extended their lead to as many as 30 points midway through as the Seahawks cruised to victory.
Thomas Pierce lead all scorers tonight with 16 points. Tyler Velasquez had 15 and Frank Rogers scored 14.
The win earnes Cabrillo their fourth Coast Conference South Championship in last six years. Twice back to back (2006-07, 2007-2008 and 2010-2011, 2011-2012).

GAME 22 - SEAHAWKS POUND SAN JOSE CITY 70-31......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks won tonight over San Jose City College in San Jose. Cabrillo (19-3, 9-0) jumped on the Jaguars (9-16, 4-6) early and lead 26-9 midaway through the first half. Cabrillo road that lead into the locker room and lead 31-18 at the half.
The second half was all Seahawks as they went on a 30-3 run behind an oustanding defense effort. Cabrillo held SJCC to just 13 second half points and no SJCC player scored more than six points on the night. The win was the Seahawks 11th win in a row.
Thomas Pierce lead all scorers with 15 points. Aaron Short scored 14 and Frank Rogers had 13 points. Tyler Velasquez chipped in with 10 points on the night.
The win tonight clinched at minimum a Coast Conference South Co-Championship with three games to go. A win in any of the Seahawks next three games will secure an outright Championship. Cabrillo has won the Coast Conference South Championship in four of the last six years. Twice back to back.

GAME 21 - CABRILLO UPENDS WEST VALLEY 75-63.......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks beat West Valley College this evening 75-63 extending their winning streak to 10. The Seahawks (18-3, 8-0) also remained unbeaten in Coast Conference South play with the win tonight. WVC (8-15, 6-3) started quickly tonight as they shot the ball extremely well all night. Cabrillo got themselves going offensively behind the 3 pt. shooting of Aaron Short, Tyler Velasquez and Dalton Noble. As a result, the Seahawks lead 35-21 at the half.
In the second, WVC connected on 8 3pt. baskets which got them back into the game for most of the half. Cabrillo took control of the game late with 4:30 to go behind the play of Aaron Short, Tyler Velasquez, Thomas Pierce and Frank Rogers who all contributed during that stretch.
Tyler Velasquez lead all scorers with 21 points. Aaron Short had 19 and Frank Rogers scored 12. Dalton Noble scored 11 and Thomas Pierce chipped in with 10 second half points.

GAME 20 - SEAHAWKS WIN 9TH IN A ROW, BEAT HARTNELL 52-41....
The Cabrillo College Seahawks won tonight 52-41on the road in Salinas vs Hartnell College (9-11, 3-4) and extended their winning streak to nine games. Cabrillo (17-3, 7-0) started slowly tonight but figured it out as Tyler Velasquez scored 11 first half points to help give the Seahawks a 34-15 halftime lead.
The second half was difficult to watch as both teams struggled shooting the ball from the perimeter. Again, however, the Seahawks played outstanding defense holding Hartnell to only 12 field goals for the game and only 5 in the first half. No Hartnell player scored more than 9 points on the night.
Aaron Short led all scorers with 16 points. Tyler Velasquez scored 11 points (all in the first half). Frank Rogers and CJ Grigg both helped out with 8 each.
Next, the Seahawks will host West Valley College (Saratoga) on Friday February 3rd in Aptos. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00pm.
GAME 19 - CABRILLO EXTENDS WIN STREAK TO 8 WITH 73-59 WIN....
The Cabrillo College Seahawks defeated the Monterey Peninsula College Lobos 73-59 tonight in Aptos. Cabrillo (16-3, 6-0) stuggled shooting the ball in the first half behind the 3 pt. arc and could not pull away from MPC who themselves connected on 7 3 pt. baskets in the half. Cabrillo went in at the half up 35-31.
In the second, the Seahawks shot the ball a little better and continued to play outstanding defense as the Seahawks held MPC without a 3 pt field goal in the second half.
Aaron Short lead the Seahawks in scoring with 25 points. Tyler Velasquez scored 17 points, hitting three first half 3's. Frank Rogers scored 11 points and Dalton Noble chipped in with 9 points.

GAME 18 - SEAHAWKS ROUT RAMS 80-46 IN GILROY........
The Cabrillo College Seahawks rallied early and never looked back as the Seahawks defeated the Gavilan College Rams (1-16, 0-5) tonight in Gilroy. The win extends the Seahawks (15-3, 5-0) win streak to seven in a row and keeps the Seahawks undefeated in Coast Conference South play. Thomas Pierce paced the Seahawks with 10 first half points. The Seahawks led at the half 43-22.
The second half was more of the same as the Seahawks quickly ran the lead to thirty points early in the second half and coasted the rest of the way allowing Cabrillo's bench to get some extended playing time.
C.J. Grigg led all scorers with 20 points. Tyler Velasquez had 14 hitting 4 3 pt. baskets. Thomas Pierce had 12 and Frank Rogers chipped in with 10 points.

GAME 17 - CABRILLO DRILLS DE ANZA 69-45..........
The Cabrillo College Seahawks improved to 4-0 in Coast Conference South play with a 24 point win tonight in Cupertino over DeAnza College. DeAnza (10-9, 2-2) came into the game looking to make a statement but instead the Seahawks (14-3, 4-0) made one of their own.
Cabrillo jumped all over the Dons early taking a 12-0 lead and extending that to 16-2. The Seahawks lead at the half 36-25.
The second half was more of the same as the Seahawks got some outstanding perimeter shooting from Joe Saarem who connected on 4-3pt baskets in the half. Cabrillo was up by as much as 27 with 4;00 to go.
Aaron Short led all scorers with 19 points. Joe Saarem had 15 points on 5- 3pt. baskets. Tyler Velasquez had 12 points. Frank Rogers and Thomas Pierce had 9 and 8 respectively.

GAME 16 - SEAHAWKS JUMP ALL OVER SJCC 63-43.....
The Cabrillo College Seahawks improved their record to 3-0 in Coast Conference South play and to 13-3 overall with an impressive 63-43 win tonight over San Jose City College (7-12, 2-2) in Aptos. The Seahawks jumped on the Jaguars early and never let up as the Seahawks cruised into halftime with a 32-16 lead. The second half was more of the same as SJCC never got closer that 11 points as the Seahawks increased their lead for much of the half.
Tyler Velasquez led the Seahawks in scoring with 18 points. Aaron Short had 10 and Justyn Searle and Frank Rogers each had 7.
Next the Seahawks will travel to Cupertino to take on the De Anza Dons Wednesday night Jan. 18th at 7:00pm.
GAME 15 - CABRILLO MOVES TO 2-0 IN COAST CONFERENCE SOUTH.........
The Cabrillo College Seahawks won tonight beating West Valley College (Saratoga, CA) on the road 65-52. The Seahawks (12-3, 2-0) jumped on the Vikings (5-13, 2-1) early in this one but a late first half rally by WVC cut into the lead as the teams headed into the locker room with Cabrillo up 29-22.
In the second half, Cabrillo could not put the stubborn WVC club away as the Vikings cut the lead to 5 with 4:17 to play. A late Cabrillo run behind the efforts of Aaron Short down the stretch put the game out of reach.
Aaron Short lead the way with 20 points. Tyler Velasquez and Frank Rogers had 13 and 11 respectively for the Seahawks.

GAME 14 - SEAHAWKS OPEN CONFERENCE PLAY WITH A WIN.........
The Cabrillo College Seahawks opened Coast Conference South play tonight with a 59-49 win over Hartnell College (Salinas). Cabrillo (11-3, 1-0) jumped on the Panthers (6-8, 0-1) early holding them without a basket untill the 14:00 min. mark and found themselves up 22-8 with 8:00 to go but could not put Hartnell away. The Seahawks had their own struggles shooting the ball and went in at the half only up 8, 31-23.
In the second, Cabrillo could not pull away as much of the half was back and forth. Hartnell cut the lead to 3 with 3:23 to go at 43-40 but could get no closer.
Aaron Short led the Seahawks in scoring with 21 points. Thomas Pierce scored 12 and Frank Rogers had 11.

GAME 13 - SEAHAWKS HANG ON TO DEFEAT FOOTHILL 48-47...
The Cabrillo College Seahawks found a way to win tonight over the Foothill College Owls in Los Altos Hills. Cabrillo (10-3) jumped on the Owls (11-4) early in the first half 15-4 but saw that lead diminish as the half progressed. Cabrillo led at the half 25-18. In the second, Foothill played and shot the ball much better and took the lead several times as the two teams went back and forth in what was a very physical hard fought game between two of the better teams in Northern CA.. Cabrillo managed to take a lead with 5:23 to play behind the stellar play of Aaron Short.
Short lead the Seahawks in scoring with 17 points. Frank Rogers and Tyler Velasquez each had 11.
Next, the Seahawks open Coast Conference South play at home vs Hartnell College Wednesday night Jan. 4th @ 7:00pm.
GAME 12 - SEAHAWKS WEAR DOWN MERRITT, WIN 69-53......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks put together a solid second half of basketball tonight and came away with a 69-53 win against Merritt College (Oakland). The Seahawks did not play well in the first half and as a result found themselves down one at the half 30-29.
The second half was a much different story as the Seahawks outscored the Thunderbirds (5-7) 40-23 in the half. Cabrillo had very balanced scoring on the night with four Seahawks in double figures and another with nine points on the night. The win improves the Seahawks record to 9-3 on the year as the Seahawks go into the holiday.
Thomas Pierce led the Seahawks in scoring with 16 points (14 in the first half). Frank Rogers had 14. Aaron Short had 12 and Tyler Velasquez had 11. Dalton Noble also chipped in with 9 points.
Next, the Seahawks will be back in action on Dec. 30th in Los Altos Hills at Foothill College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00pm.
GAME 11 - CRC TOO GOOD FOR CABRILLO.......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks lost this afternoon 71-67 to Cosumnes River College (Sacramento). The lose drops the Seahawks record to 8-3 on the year. Cabrillo did as solid job defensively in the first half limiting CRC to 29 points as the Seahawks went into the locker room down one.
In the second, Cabrillo could not keep CRC off the offensive board as the y built a 15 point lead with 8:32 to play. The Seahawks then went on an impressive run and cut the lead to 6 with 2:58 to play. Cabrillo had two wide open 3 pt attempts down the stretch but could not connect and CRC held on for the win.
Aaron Short lead the Seahawks in scoring with 18 points. Frank Rogers scored 17 and Tyler Velasquez and Thomas Pierce each had 13.
Next, the Seahawks will play Merritt College (Oakland) in Aptos on Dec. 21st. Tip-off is 7:00pm.
GAME 10 - CABRILLO GUTS ONE OUT 55-48......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks improved their record to 8-2 on the season with a gutty 55-48 win in the third place game of the Skyline College Tournament (San Bruno) over Reedley College (5-3) 55-48. Cabrillo was slow out of the gate and struggled to get in any rhythm offensively. The Seahawks managed to score 22 points in the half and found themselves down 4 as they went into the locker room.
In the second half, the Seahawks began to grind away at Reedley and took control of the game with 4:37 to play and an 8 point lead.
However, Reedley would not go away as they hit two tough 3 pt. shots down the stretch to cut into the lead. Thomas Pierce and Aaron Short went a combined 7-8 from the free throw line to seal the win for the Seahawks.
Thomas Pierce led the Seahawks in scoring with 18 points. Aaron Short added 11 and Frank Rogers chipped in with 9.
Next, the Seahawks go on the road to Sacramento Saturday Dec. 17th at Cosumnes River College. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00pm
GAME 9 - SEAHAWKS LOSE TO LPC 65-62.......
The Cabrillo College Seahawks dropped a tough one tonight in the semi-finals of the Skyline College Tournament 65-62 to Las Positas College (Livermore). Cabrillo (7-2) came out flat tonight and played their worst half of the year and ended up trailing LPC (8-2) 36-27 at the half.
The second half was a different story as the Seahawks played one of their better halfs of the year defensively allowing the high scoring LPC offense 29 points in the half. The Seahwks climbed their way back into the game and took a lead but could not hang on down the stretch.
Frank Rogers lead the Seahawks in scoring with 18 points. Thomas Pierce added 11.
Next, the Seahawks will face Reedley College (Reedley, CA) in the 3rd place game. Tipoff is at 2:00pm. Reedley (5-2) was beaten by College of Marin in the other semi-final game.
GAME 8 - SHORT TIP IN AT THE BUZZER SAVES SEAHAWKS........
An Aaron Short tip in with :09 to go on the clock was just enough for the Seahawks to upend a very stubborn Napa Valley College squad 55-53. The win improved Cabrillo's record to 7-1 on the year and dropped NVC to 2-7. The Seahawks controlled the game in the first half by crashing the offensive board and as a result lead at the half 33-25.
In the second, Cabrillo extended the lead to 10 several times but could not seem to put NVC away. NVC took a 5 point lead with 3:23 to play. Consecutive stops at the defensive end and critical baskets by Tyler Velasquez, Aaron Short and Thomas Pierce tied the score at 53 with :22.4 to go. Cabrillo called timeout and ran the clock to either win the game at the buzzer or go into OT. Tyler Velasquez got a good look at a 12 foot jumper and missed as Aaron Short made a spectacular acrobatic tip in for the lead with :09 to go. Napa called TO and their attempt failed as time expired.
Tyler Velasquez lead the Seahawks in scoring with 17 points and Frank Rogers added 11.
Next, the Seahawks will play Las Positas College (Livermore) at 5:00pm in the semi-final of the Skyline College Tournament (San Bruno). LPC (7-2) beat West Valley College in their first round game 81-62.
GAME 7 - CABRILLO HOLDS ON TO BEAT BUTTE IN OT 69-66...
The Cabrillo College Seahawks improved their record to 6-1 on the year with a very exciting overtime win in the championship game of the 8th Annual Cabrillo College Tournament. Butte (3-5) jumped all over the Seahawks to start the game and put the Seahawks on their heels and tentative. Cabrillo made a furious run to tie the game but Butte made a run of their own to go in at the half up 31-24.
The Seahawks saw themselves down quickly in the second half but rallied behind the play of Aaron Short and Tyler Velasquez to get the Seahawks back in the game. Cabriilo took the lead with 8:00 minutes to play. However, Butte would trade baskets for the remainder of regulation. The two teams went into OT tied at 56. Two big 3's by Short and Velasquez gave the Seahawks enough cushion to win.
Tyler Velasquez lead the Seahawks in scoring with 21 points. Aaron Short had 18 and Thomas Pierce chipped in with 9.
Aaron Short was the tournament MVP with Tyler Velasquez and Thomas Pierce making All-Tournament as well.
Next, the Seahawks will travel to San Bruno for the first round of the Skyline College Tournament on Dec. 9th at 4:00pm vs Napa College.
GAME 6 - SEAHAWKS BLAST LASSEN 73-34 . . . .
The Cabrillo College Seahawks improved their record tonight with a 73-34 win over Lassen College (Susanville) in the opening round of the 8th Annual Cabrillo College Basketball Tournament. Cabrillo (5-1) jumped all over the Cougars (0-7) early and never looked back. Cabrillo led 40-16 at the half. Aaron Short had 11 at the half and 10 from Frank Rogers.
The Seahawks extended their lead quickly to start the half and never looked back as the Seahawks got to empty their bench and play the entire roster for extended minutes.
Thomas Pierce led the Seahawks in scoring with 15 points. Aaron Short added 11 and Frank Rogers chipped in 10.
Next the Seahawks will face Butte College (Oroville) (3-4) in the Championship game of the Cabrillo College Tournament. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00pm. Butte defeated Canada College (Redwood City) in the other first round game 61-54.
Lassen will play Canada for third place at 5:00pm.
GAME 5 - Cabrillo Beaten in Final Minutes at Chabot.........
The Cabrillo College Seahawks dropped a tough one tonight 66-63 in Hayward to Chabot College. The Seahawks (4-1) led the entire first half as they jumped on the Gladiators (5-1) early and took a 31-24 lead into the locker room at the half. Aaron Short connected on 4 3 pt. baskets in the first half to lead the Seahawks.
In the second half, Cabrillo led by as many as 11. Chabot took their first lead of the game with 1:14 to play. Chabot hit 14 3's in the game 10 in the second half. The Seahawks had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer but could not hit a desperation 3 at the buzzer.
Aaron Short led the Seahawks with 21 points. Tyler Velasquez had 12 to go along with Thomas Pierce and Frank Rogers each with 9.
Next, the Seahawks will play host as they begin the Cabrillo College Basketball Tournament on Friday and conclude on Saturday (12/2-3/11).

GAME 4 - SEAHAWKS HANDLE OHLONE 68-45...
The Seahawks improved their record to 4-0 with an impressive 68-45 win over Ohlone College (3-3) in Fremont. Cabrillo started the game on fire with 4 3 pt. baskets. Two each by Joe Saarem and Aaron Short. Thomas Pierce was also outstanding for the Seahawks with 13 first half points. Cabrillo lead at the half 36-21. In the second, Ohlone never cut the lead lower than 12 points as the Seahawks enjoyed leads by as many as 20+ late in the half.
Aaron Short lead all scorers with 20 points and Thomas Pierce had 19. Tyler Velasquez chipped in with 9 as well.
Next, the Seahawks will travel to Hayward and take on the Chabot Gladiators on Tuesday night (11-29-11). Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00pm

GAME 2 - CABRILLO BEATS SHASTA 74-49........
The Cabrillo College Seahawks improved their record to 2-0 on the season with an impressive 74-49 win over Shasta College (Redding, CA). Shasta (0-2) fell behind early in the first half as the Seahawks jumped out to a 21-6 lead and cruised to the half with a 39-20 lead. Shasta made a run at the Seahawks early in the second half but could never cut into the deficit enough to seriously threaten the Seahawks lead. Frank Rogers led all scorers with 23 points while Tyler Velasquez and Joe Saarem each added 12. See action shots - click on "Photo Gallery" above.
The Seahawks will take on Skyline College (San Bruno) in Aptos on Friday, Nov. 18th at 7:00pm.
GAME 1 - SEAHAWKS HANG ON, DEFEAT DELTA 51-47....
The Cabrillo College Seahawks opened the 2011-2012 season with a 51-47 win over San Joaquin Delta College (Stockton). Cabrillo (1-0) jumped out quickly on SJDC 16-4. Cabrillo road that lead throughout the half and went in at the half up 32-21. The Seahawks struggled offensively in the second half scoring only 19 points and shooting 7-13 from the free throw line in the half. Tyler Velasquez led the Seahawks in scoring with 15 points.
