"Getting Started" Checklist:

Attend an Orientation
- Scheduled Orientation: (Preferred Method) See the CABT Department
orientation schedule for open-entry courses. Your orientation
is your only scheduled on-campus meeting, although you will need to return several times during the semester
to turn in your work and to take your exams for the course. Individual Orientation: If you are unable to attend one of our orientations
or are registering after the first week of class, please e-mail your instructor at cabt@cabrillo.edu or phone
(831) 479-6277 to make an individual appointment.
- Calculator: In order to complete the required lessons, you will need to have access to an
electronic printing calculator with a full-size keyboard (not a pocket calculator) See calculators in the computer lab
during your orientation for an example.
- Fill out the "Student Progress Sheet" (handed out at the orientation). Turn it in to your instructor.
Purchase Textbook
- Solving Business Problems Using a Calculator, by Mildred K. Polisky, Glencoe McGraw-Hill, 5th edition (1998), or 6th edition (2003).

- After completing and turning in your first seven lessons and Practice Test 1, come to Cabrillo's
Computer Technology Center (at either the Aptos or the Watsonville campus) to take your first Speed and Accuracy Test
and Midterm. After completing lessons 8 - 12 and Practice Test 2, come back to take your second Speed and Accurary Test and
Final. All work, including exams, must be completed before Finals week.
