Distance Education

"Getting Started" Checklist:

  1. Read Course Description and Requirements <-- Click here!

    Attend an Orientation
    • Scheduled Orientations: (Preferred Method) See the CABT Department's orientation schedule for open-entry courses. Your orientation is your only scheduled on-campus meeting, although you will need to return several times during the course of the semester to turn in your work and to take your exam for the course. Individual Orientations: If you are unable to attend one of our orientations or are registering after the first week of class, please e-mail your instructor at cabt@cabrillo.edu or phone (831) 479-6277 to make an individual appointment.
    • Important files for use with MicroPace Pro software: Let your Instructor or Lab Instructional Assistant know that you have purchased the software to work at home. We will give you a CD with the timed writing exercises that go with MicroPace Pro. You will need these files for your MicroPace Pro software to work properly at home. The CD we will give you also has several multimedia tutorial files to help with the setup of your software.

  2. Fill out the "Student Progress Sheet." Turn it in to your instructor.
