Data Entry Software Instructions Page 3
for CABT 103A and 103B
- Validating Input (continued)
- As you are correcting errors, the program will give a warning beep and return to the beginning of the record you are working on if there is still an error. Look carefully to make sure you have found every error. Remember to check for extra spaces after words.
- After the last error has been corrected, and you hit "Tab" or "Enter," you will automatically be returned to the main menu.
- Turning in Your Work
- After correcting errors, bring your USB Memory stick to your instructor in the Computer Lab. You will need to show your instructor the "Validate Input" screen, which will now display your final score. There is no need to print from the program - your work will all be saved on your disk. Important: It is a good idea to stop by the Computer Lab on a regular basis during the semester, as your grade depends on the work which is saved on your disk. Once your work has been recorded on your "Student Progress Sheet" (kept by your instructor in the Computer Lab), you have credit for that work. If your disk should become damaged or lost, you would need to repeat only that work which you had not yet shown to your instructor.

- Repeating a Job
- If you have made many errors, or made a high number of attempts, you may wish to re-do a job. Note: If you follow these steps, the work you have done on this job will be erased, so only use this option if you are sure you wish to repeat the entire job.
- Use your arrow keys to highlight the job you wish to repeat. Use "Esc" to highlight the "File" menu. Press "Enter" to open the menu. Choose "New Session." You will now see the empty database, and this will count as your first "attempt."

- Exiting the Program
- After closing your session and validating input, you are ready to exit from the Data Entry program. Use "Esc" to select the "File" menu. Press "Enter" to open the menu, and choose "Quit." Important: Make sure you use the menus to quit the program. Give your USB Memory stick time to complete the save process before you remove it.
