Cabrillo College's Computer Networking and System Administration program prepares students to work in the Information Technology (IT) industry in general, and more specifically in computer networking and system administration.  Courses include the underlying networking concepts and theory, administering the network infrastructure including the Cisco Systems CCNA/CCNP courses, system and network administration using Unix/Linux and Microsoft operating systems, network security, network management, and emerging technologies.  Various certificate and degree options are available, including courses which transfer to four-year universities for those students pursuing a bachelor degree.

Associate in Arts Degree (Transfer Degree) 
Begin your Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Networking and System Administration at Cabrillo College!  

The Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree is pending approval, however, students can still transfer the necessary CS/CIS courses to CSUMB in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications, Multimedia, and Applied Computing (TMAC).  There is also a new degree, Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT)  pending approval at CSUMB. Skills Certificates
Skills Certificates are a set of courses specific to preparation for an industry certification exam or a specific area of technology.

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) 12 units
CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) 16 units 
UNIX/Linux System Administration 15 units
MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional)     15 units 


Certificate of Proficiency
The Certificate of Proficiency is the first level of certificate and degree options for this program. This certificate provides students with the introductory courses necessary to create a foundation from which students can build upon.

COMM 2 or COMM 10        3 units 
ENGL 100, 1A, 1AMC or BUS 157 3 units

Associate in Science Degree
The A.S.degree combines the Certificate of Proficiency with a Skills Certificate, and General Education courses.
