Transferring Cisco Academy
Courses from High Schools, ROPs, and other Cisco Networking
Academies
Many High Schools and ROP programs offer
the Cisco CCNA level courses. In order to attract and accommodate
students who have taken the Cisco CCNA courses at other schools
which primarily teach to the Cisco curriculum, we have created
an articulation process that will allow students to articulate
these courses directly to the CIS program, and with
additional work, towards the Computer Networking and System
Administration program.
Articulation
with CIS Program
Students who have taken any of the four
Cisco CCNA courses at another school will receive the following
credit towards the CIS degree/certificate, but not for
the Computer Networking and System Administration program:
-
CIS
181A : 3 units for Cisco CCNA 1
-
CIS
182A : 3 units for Cisco CCNA 2
-
CIS
183A : 3 units for Cisco CCNA 3 and Cisco CCNA 4 combined
CIS 181A, 182A, and 183A are not directly
articulated to the Computer Networking and System Administration
program but can be applied towards degree/certificate options
in the CIS program.
Articulation
with Computer Networking and System Administration Program
If a student wishes to apply any of
these courses towards the Computer Networking and System
Administration program, they will need to take the following
CIS 160 independent studies courses to receive the additional
information required by Cabrillo College and included in Cabrillo's
Cisco CCNA courses:
-
CIS
181A, plus the completion of CIS 160A: 1 unit, will
count as CIS 81
-
CIS
182A, plus the completion of CIS 160B: 1 unit, will
count as CIS 82
-
CIS
183A, plus the completion of CIS 160C: 1 unit, will
count as CIS 83
