Cabrillo College Robotics Club wins NASA physical competition

The Cabrillo College Robotics Club won the 2016 NASA Swarmathon Virtual Challenge. The code that won the competition was written by two CIS students, Carter Frost and Darren Churchill. Carter created the software that systematically tested every code change. Darren researched and found a way to calibrate a key sensor in the robot. The improved sensor reading improved navigation accuracy by two orders of magnitude. Faculty advisor was Mike Matera. Here is a link to the awards ceremony. (06/17/2019)

Cabrillo students build app to help when disasters strike

Fritz Billingsley and other Cabrillo computer science students took third place in the sixth annual Startup Hackathon at CSU Monterey Bay. Their project, titled "Life is ruff: never leaving your best friend behind," helps people find lost pets during a disaster. Cabrillo College Robotics Club participates in NASA challenge

The Cabrillo College Robotics Club participated the 2017 NASA Swarmathon tournament at Kennedy Space Center. Cabrillo student Zeebo Gouldon develops football app.

Zeebo Gouldon, a Cabrillo Computer Science student, enjoys being the team manager for the Santa Cruz High football team.
