| Online Project -- Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management Purpose To demonstrate proficiency in using the Internet to search for quality resources to apply to specific information problems.
To complete this project, you can use computers in the Computer Technology Center (Building 1400). Call first to check for hours 477-5286. Lab computers have Word, Excel, and offer access to the Internet. If you are totally unfamiliar with the basics of using the Internet, you might want to explore resources offered on the Internet and Library Instruction page. Librarians in the Library can also offer assistance to the unitiated.
Two ways to do this project.
1) You can print out this project and fill in your responses in ink. If taking this option, fill in your name here:

2) If you are working at a computer that has simultaneous access to the Internet and to word processing, open a word processing document, put your name and date at the top, and type Optional Project for Culinary Arts. Label each Activity as you type up your responses.

2.Click on Internet Links
3. Select Culinary Arts --These Internet links are all selected as quality resources for culinary arts and related topics. You might want to spend some time exploring them!
4.Under Specific Aspects, click on History of Eating Utensils.
Note down something that interests you about the history of the fork (or spoon; or something!):

When formulating search statements, be sure to put quotation marks around phrases to keep the words together

YOUR SOLUTION
1. From the Cabrillo College Library homepage, select Fulltext Articles [If you are accessing these resources for off-campus, your library card number is your user ID.]
2. Click on Magazine & Journal Articles (EBSCOhost); then on EBSCOhost Web.
3. Once you are connected to the database, select Advanced Search. Search for your article using keywords such as Oaxaca on one line, and food on the next.

Print out at least one page of the article and attach it to what you turn in. If you are using word processing software to do this project, you might want to copy and paste one of the images into your document. Make sure to give credit to where you copied it from.
