Welcome Letter

Dear Cooperative Work Experience Education Student:

Whether you are enrolling in Cooperative Work Experience Education for the first time, or you are a returning student, welcome to the program at Cabrillo College. Cooperative Work Experience Education (CWEE, or Co-op) is designed to help you relate your college courses to your career goals. Staff and resources of the CWEE office and Cabrillo College are available to help you receive the maximum benefit from this experience.

The Web site will provide you with forms, instructions for writing learning objectives, and general information necessary to meet the course requirements. In addition to reading and completing several forms, including an online information form, you will be completing activities including developing learning objectives, and meeting with an assigned CWEE Instructor, a Cabrillo College faculty member from your occupational area. A semester (or Summer or Winter session) is a short period of time and it is important that you meet each deadline outlined. The specific deadline dates are on the separate Checklist for Students. NOTE: you must meet every requirement of the Co-op program to receive credit.

CWEE can be a valuable and significant part of your college education. Increasingly, employers are seeking employees who have first-hand experience in the work world and understand what is required to be successful. The Cooperative Work Experience Education program does not provide jobs or internship placement. The College's Job Placement/Student Employment office (Room 804) is available to assist you with finding a job or an internship.
