Role of the Work Experience Instructor

As work experience instructor for a student enrolled in a CWEE course, you will be the primary academic support person to ensure that student is prepared and on track to have a successful internship experience. Work experience instructors play a key role in the success of our students as well as building and maintaining relationships with key industry employers in the region. If you are interested in becoming a work-experience instructor, please contact the Work-based learning program coordinator.


  • Meet formally with student to establish learning objectives and expectations for course completion
  • Perform a worksite visit and review learning objectives and outcome with supervisor
  • Support the student as needed in pursuing learning objectives through the semester Meet with student at the end of semester, collect all required paperwork and review final project
  • Meet with Program Coordintor, submit all student paperwork and grade for course
