Faculty Experiential Learning Institute
The Faculty Experiential Learning Institute (FELI) is a professional development workshop, and the first step for faculty interested in teaching DBA courses. Attending a FELI is also an excellent way to get a feel for what the DBA is all about.

Curriculum Influences
Major influences of the DBA's curriculum include:

  • Michael Sturm's Spherical Dynamics
    Identifies unique learning styles, and explains how to learn successfully as an individual or in a team.
  • Marcia Heiman's Learning to Learn
    Teaches learning skills such as how to take good notes, prepare for exams, and ask good questions.
  • Hewlett-Packard Lab's Product Development Process
    Explains how knowledge-based businesses identify consumer needs.
  • Current Research on Neuroplasticity
    Indicates that positive experiences, such as concentration, can improve the structure of the brain.
  • Conversant Solutions' Dynamic Leadership Program
    Teaches how to lead, negotiate, and how to give and take direction.
  • Alternatives to Violence Project
    Helps build positive relationships using affirmation, respect, cooperation, humor and trust.
  • Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication
    Teaches ways to communicate effectively using compassion and positive language.
