What we offer

The Early Childhood Education Department offers classes for Spanish and English-speaking students to meet California requirements for credentials and licenses to work with young children.

 

The Department offers over 50 different courses leading to:

Graducation CapAssociate in Science degree

Gradution CapNine certificates:

Two Certificates of Proficiency

Six Specialization Certificates

One Skills Certificate

 

The ECE department provides access to students from all parts of Santa Cruz County. Courses are offered at both the Aptos and the Watsonville campuses, and other off-campus locations. At the Watsonville campus, ECE courses are offered in Spanish and English as part of the Cabrillo Certificate in Spanish-English Bilingual Teaching.

 

Our program of courses meets requirements for licensure by the State Department of Social Services, and by the State of California Child Development Division which issues six credentials:
