The Mentor Program provides selection, funding and support for Mentor Teachers in Santa Cruz County. Mentor Teachers are eligible to supervise Cabrillo College student teachers. Teachers who are interested in becoming Mentors submit an application to the Mentor Selection Committee and receive a site visit before they are selected to be Mentor Teachers. Applications are reviewed every year in December or January.
Mentors are paid a yearly stipend for participating in the mentor program, and an additional payment for every student teacher they supervise. They attend monthly seminars with other mentors and an ECE faculty person, and are required to participate in professional growth activities.
