Cabrillo College Children's Center Placements
The Cabrillo College Children’s Center is an integral part of the ECE Department. While caring for the children of Cabrillo students and staff, the Children’s Center provides instructional and laboratory experiences for our Cabrillo ECE students as well as observation opportunities for students in Nursing, Psychology, ESL and other Cabrillo Departments.
Additionally we serve UCSC, CSUMB, WestEd’s Program for Infant-Toddler Care and various regional and community agencies. The Center is accredited and commended by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and serves as a California State Demonstration Site for Infant-Toddler Care Giving.

To complete the supervised student teaching at the Children's
Center students should enroll in ECE 54 Practicum Lecture and in ECE 54L Practicum Lab for a total of 5 units. The Practicum Lab placements entail
spending two mornings teaching in one of the Cabrillo College
Children's Center classrooms followed by a lecture/seminar at the end
of each lab class.
