Aerial View of the Horticulture Center

This is an an aerial view of the entire Environmental Horticulture Center when it was nearing completion in late 2002. Perched atop the campus, it commands a breathtaking view of the entire Monterey Bay. The eleven acre site provides classrooms, meeting rooms, offices, a horticulture library, state of the art nursery facilities and botanic gardens. The facility is open to the public for self guided tours when school is in session.

Garden hours are variable as some of the garden is around the Horticulture center building (5000) and some of the gardens are located in the nursery area. Summer hours are less predictable.

So, in general the hours are as follows:

  • Gardens around the 5000 building (Includes the Roger's California Natives and the Packard/Stephans Riparian Pond Habitat)
  • Monday thru Saturday, 7:00 am to dark
  • Gardens in the nursery area (Includes the Salvia Garden, the Species Fuchsia Garden)
  • Monday thru Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
