Giant Aloe
Succulents come in all shapes and sizes. This is our prized Giant Aloe, Aloe polyphylla from Lesotho South Africa. Succulents come in all shapes and sizes from a few inches to tree size. We have more than 150 different varieties in our collection, most of which are available at our annual plant sale. |
Succulent Stock
This hoop house contains our stock collection from which plants are propagated for our annual plant sale. Varieties shown are Sanseveria trifaciata 'Moon Glow' and S. 'Silver Marginata', along with aloes and various Lithops species. |

This hoop house is home to the succulent starts in preparation for the plant sale. Some grow in baskets, while others make their way to various unique containers for the sale. |
Crazy Cactus
Fun was had making faces and shapes in a bunch of pear cactus leaves. More fun still, is watching them change as they grow. |

Species Fuchsias

Growing Species Fuchsias
One of the places where species fuchsia starts are kept is in the North Shade House. Among them are Fuchsia regia and F. lechlade 'Gorgon', a cross between F. paniculata and F. arborescens. |
Species Fuchsia Hoop House
This hoop house contains a variety of species fuchsias which will be available for sale in the Spring. This picture shows several large specimen plants which have recently been transplanted into the Species Fuchsia Shade Garden. At last count, the Nursery and Gardens contain over fifty different species fuchsias. |

California Natives Shade House
The south shade house contains the growing and sale area for both shade and sunloving California Natives. |
California Natives in the Garden
In the Botanic Garden, there is a mound and two slopes at the south end which feature several species of California Natives. Other natives can be seen at the entry courtyard of the Community Building. |
