Advanced Placement Wait List

Cabrillo’s Nursing program has an Application/Selection Process that allows Advanced Placement students to submit an application at any time, once all prerequisites have been completed. Those who submit a completed application packet, and who have completed the pre-requisites with the required GPA, will be added to our waitlist, in order, based on the certified mail postmark date of their application packet. We rigorously control the wait list based exclusively on the application postmark.

Students who are accepted to the Nursing program as Advanced Placement Students will be notified, in writing, of their acceptance and their wait list position. Wait list positions cannot be given out over the telephone or via email. For information about application processing and how long it takes for applicants to receive notice about program acceptance, please see our page that addresses the application process.

Due due State budget reductions and the subsequent reduction in program resources we will no longer publish the Advanced Placement Wait List to our web site. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Students on the Advanced Placement Wait List will be notified in writing if a position becomes available for an advanced placement student.

The Cabrillo Nursing Program offers positions to Advanced Placement  students on a space available basis only.  Spaces are made available in our program when current students withdraw from our program. Consequently it is difficult to predict when, or how many, Advanced Placement positions will be available for any given semester.

The length of time an advanced placement student may wait until a position becomes available can fluctuate greatly over time, and should not deter committed students from pursuing their goals. Please check the Cabrillo Nursing Program web page regularly for information about how to use your time on the wait list productively. We post valuable information about professional certificates, educational opportunities, financial aid, program requirements and other information pertinent to students pursuing a career in health care. The web site is an invaluable link to our program and the health care education opportunities in our area.

While on the wait list, maintaining accurate contact information is essential. It is extremely important that you notify the Nursing Program Office, in writing, of any changes to your mailing address, phone number, and email. Contact update info may be sent via email to nursing@cabrillo.edu or via postal mail to Cabrillo College Nursing Program, 6500 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA,  95003. You may also bring your contact info updates to our office which is located in room 1550 on the lower campus. Contact info updates will not be accepted over the phone! We will use the contact information you provide to communicate with you. If we are unable to reach you by phone, email or postal mail, you will be removed from the waitlist.
