Application, Selection and Prerequisites
Cabrillo’s Nursing program has an Application/Selection Process that allows students to submit an application once all prerequisite courses have been completed.
Applications are accepted year round, there is no application deadline.
Before applying to the Nursing Program it is highly recommended that all prospective applicants make an appointment with an academic counselor at Cabrillo. Please call 479-6274 to schedule an appointment with a designated Nursing Program Counselor.

Nursing Program Application for Generic Placement

Nursing Program LVN/Advanced Placement Application
The nursing application must be complete, including two sets of official sealed transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, and must be mailed via certified mail. Applications will not be accepted in person. No exceptions.
Prerequisites
Selection is based on completion of all prerequisites.The prerequisites are as follows:
- Bio 4/Human Anatomy
- Bio 5/Human Physiology
- Bio6/Microbiology
- Eng 1A/College Composition
Selection is also based on completion of al prerequisites with the required grade point average (GPA). GPA requirements for acceptance are as follows:
- A minimum combined GPA of 2.5 in Bio 5/Human Physiology
and Bio6/Microbiology.
- A minimum combined GPA of 2.0 in Bio 4/Human Anatomy
and Eng 1A/College Composition.
- All prerequisites must be completed with a grade of C or better
- A minimum overall college GPA of 2.0.
Prerequisite courses from other schools may be used if the school is accredited and if the course is equivalent to our requirement. Check with a counselor to determine equivalency. Bring transcripts for all college coursework to your counseling appointment.
