American Heart Association: CPR-BLS for the Healthcare Provider (HCP)
This is a 2 year certification course intended for those that are required to have the Healthcare Provider Course for employment or schooling.
The content of the course teaches CPR for adult, child and infant (including ventilation with a barrier device and bag-mask device). Treatment of cardiac arrest with an automated external defibrillator (AED) and care of choking victims of all ages is also covered. * Limit 10 students per class.

Skills Practice Session and Test Option
This course is for students who have taken the Online AHA CPR-BLS Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification & for students who need their course renewal
- Anyone can take the online BLS-HCP course ($17.50) at www.onlineaha.org followed by a manikin skills test ($40.00) at Cabrillo College. Come prepared to demonstrate skills. 30 minutes of practice time with skill sheets and manikins is provided prior to testing.
- You must bring your on-line printed course completion certificate to the skills testing session.
- Sessions are scheduled by appointment only. Please contact the Public Safety program office to schedule a session with an instructor.
Cost: $40

Credit
This class is not a credit course. Students who successfully pass this course receive certification from the American Heart Association but do not receive college units.

AHA Heartsaver First Aid
This is the American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid course covering medical, injury, and environmental emergencies. This course satisfies the externship requirement for First Aid certification. Upon successful completion you will receive a two year certification.
