Conceputal Foundation of the Center

The five fundamental concepts discussed in detail on the following pages, form the foundation of the operation of the Center. The focus is on the individual's experience of his or her disability, not on a clinical diagnostic label. Professional understanding, planning, and guidance is constantly available, but students determine their own programs and their own rate of progress.

The social support that students give and receive coupled with the professional staff's skill in combining the latest in psycho-social science with clinical methods results in remarkable rehabiliation achievements and significant improvements in quality of life.
