Professional Development Committee (Formally PETL)

Mission/Purpose Statement

Cabrillo Professional Development is a college-wide initiative to promote growth as an educational community. Professional development opportunities promote and support excellence in teaching and learning, technological advancement, institutional effectiveness, and student support.

Goals for Year

2017-18 Goals:

  1. Create, implement and evaluate a professional development plan for all employee campus constituencies including cross training and change management
    * For all employees, provide training to update skills to address current relevant technologies *1.6
    * Provide Guided Pathways training *1.7
    * Online instruction training *1.9
  2. Plan with the Flex Committee a recommended spring all college day speaker – must be approved by the president; consider more than one recommendation
  3. Accreditation Standard III Review and Input as it relates to professional development
  4. Mandatory harassment/non-discrimination and Title IX training *1.10

Currently the committee meets the second Friday from 1:30 - 3 pm in room 2100B
