Cabrillo College Hires New Dean

APTOS, CA - Dr. Margery Regalado Rodriguez began her duties earlier this month as Cabrillo’s new Dean of Instructional Development.

Rodriguez brings with her a breadth of experience in educational administration, collaborative planning, program development, and team building.

Rodriguez most recently served as the Dean of Student Services at Gavilan College in Gilroy, where she worked for 15 years.

During her tenure at Gavilan, Rodriguez also worked as a Student Body Adviser and the Dean of Enrollment Management. .Prior to her employment at Gavilan College, Rodriguez was the Community Services Director for Planned Parenthood in San José. She earned Planned Parenthood’s National Award for Excellence in Education for the development of innovative educational programs.

Rodriguez is a founding member of the Dolores Huerta Community of Conscience in Gilroy and is a member of the Gilroy Latina Coalition.

Rodriguez earned a B.A. in Anthropology, an M.A. in Counseling from Sonoma State University, and an Ed. D. in Educational Leadership and Change from the Fielding Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara. She also has community college teaching credentials in psychology and ethnic studies and is a licensed Marriage, Family and Child Counselor.
