High School Seniors Can Get a Running Start on Fall 05 Registration

APTOS, CA—Now in its third year, Cabrillo’s Running Start program provides local high school seniors with the opportunity to get their first choice of classes (priority registration) for the fall 2005 semester. This year’s Running Start will be held on Friday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Cabrillo College quad area in front of the theater, at the Aptos campus, 6500 Soquel Drive.

In order to take advantage of this early registration opportunity, high school seniors must get parental permission, work with their high school’s counselor, and complete an assessment and Cabrillo College application in advance. Participants should allow approximately two hours for the Running Start event. These incoming Cabrillo College students can reward themselves with a stress-free summer, knowing that there’s a spot waiting for them at Cabrillo College in the fall.

Cabrillo College faculty and staff will be on hand to help high school seniors by offering an orientation and assistance in enrolling in classes and applying for financial aid. Students will be able to meet with representatives from various college clubs and academic programs, and get an idea of what campus life will be like. Parents are also welcome to attend.
