Cabrillo College Class of 2005 Celebrates Commencement

Graduation Ceremony is Scheduled for Friday, June 3, 2005

APTOS, CA—Cabrillo College will graduate 839 students this year. A formal commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, June 3, 2005, at 5:00 p.m., at the Carl Conelly Stadium, Cabrillo College, 6500 Soquel Drive, Aptos.

Following the processional, Cabrillo College Vice President of Student Services Manuel Osorio will welcome participants and guests. Comments from Cabrillo College President Brian King and Faculty Senate President Rory O’Brien will precede the presentation of the class by Vice President of Instruction Claire M. Biancalana.  Cabrillo College Governing Board Chairperson Katy Stonebloom will participate in the conferring of degrees. This is King’s first graduation ceremony as Cabrillo College President and it is Biancalana’s last graduation ceremony as Vice President.

The class of 2005 is comprised of graduates ranging in age from 16 to 68 years, with the average age being 29. Thirty-six percent of the graduates are male, and 64% are female.

Sixty-nine students will graduate with a perfect grade point average of 4.0; 121 students will graduate with highest honors, 142 with high honors, and 395 will graduate with honorable mention.

A reception for graduates and guests will immediately follow the ceremony. Parking is available in lots adjacent to the stadium.
