Cabrillo “Cash For College” Workshops
to Help Students Apply for Financial Aid
APTOS , CA — The Cabrillo College Financial Aid Office will hold
two free workshops in February to help students and parents fill out
the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The first workshop
will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2006, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., in
the Cabrillo College Cafeteria (Building 900), at the main campus, 6500
Soquel Drive, in Aptos. The second workshop will be held on Saturday,
February 25, 2006, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., in the main building at the
Cabrillo College Watsonville Center, located at 318 Union Street in Watsonville.
Students and parents will receive one-on-one help filling out their financial
aid applications. Students attending either workshop can also enter to
win one of ten $1,000 scholarships.
Students are encouraged to bring their parents to the workshop, and also
the following documents:
- Social Security card and driver’s license/state
ID
- 2005 federal income tax return and W2 forms
- Parents’ 2005
federal income tax returns and W2 forms
- 2005 banks statements and investment
records
- Any records of untaxed income, such as Social Security
benefits, child support received, TANF, payments to IRAs or 401(k)s or
military
or clergy
allowances
- Alien registration number (if not a citizen)
