Cabrillo College Holds Staff Appreciation Picnic

APTOS, CA –The Cabrillo College Governing Board honored 24 classified staff members today at the Staff Appreciation picnic today at the College’s Sesnon House.

Governing Board Chairman Al Smith and President Brian King extended warm welcomes and expressed sincere thanks on behalf of the Board and the entire College for these individuals’ many years of dedicated and exceptional service to Cabrillo College.

Dr. Rory O’Brien, President and Steve Hodges, Vice President, of Cabrillo’s Faculty Senate presented eight 20-year certificates and sixteen 25-year plaques. (The list of all recipients is at the end of this announcement.)

As a special surprise, Bob Swenson, Cabrillo’s Founding President, presented a 40-year certificate and plaque to Tod Hunter, a member of Cabrillo’s Maintenance and Operations custodial staff.

Cabrillo College’s administrators and managers served dessert and the Seahawks football team handled all of the set-up and tear down of the picnic to express their thanks for a job well done to all classified staff.

An optional tour to Cabrillo’s Watsonville Center Facility for classified staff followed the picnic after Vice President of Business Services, Pegi Ard, gave her thanks to the Staff Appreciation Committee, faculty, and administration for their support and help for the celebration.
