From feisty female Hip Hoppers to edgy investigations of complex social issues, Cabrillo students are using dance as a medium to explore and express their distinctive takes on life. Cabrillo College is proud to present this evening of dynamic performances created by student choreographers and faculty members, including Amy Farhood, David King, Yasmina Porter-Honicky, Sharon Took-Zozaya, and Lambert Van Buuren. Farhood, a new Cabrillo College faculty member, will present an original Latin Dance for the concert stage, created with dancers from Cabrillo’s Watsonville Campus, and Took-Zozaya’s new class, Dance for Musical Theater, will add a Broadway sparkle to the show.
Saturday night’s concert will highlight the presentation of the Roberta Bristol Award and Scholarship to Leslie Johnson, and the Tandy Beal Award and Scholarship to Phoebe Lehr. Both students will be featured in the concert.
