Cabrillo College Gallery Hosts Student Exhibition
November 13 – December 14, 2007
APTOS, CA—The Cabrillo College Gallery announces (student exhibition 2): The Cabrillo College Student Exhibition. The exhibit, which features over 200 works of art, opens Tuesday, November 13. A free public reception will be held Sunday, November 11, 4:00 – 6:00 pm.
(student exhibition 2) is a comprehensive survey of artwork completed at Cabrillo College during the spring 2007 semester. A sampling of work includes paintings, watercolors, mixed media collage, drawings, silkscreen, intaglio, ceramics, sculpture, small-scale metal/jewelry, fiber art, traditional and digital photography, and video. The artwork is selected by students and faculty, and includes up to three works from each studio class. Although just a handful of work is exhibited out of the countless numbers of very fine student work completed, (student exhibition 2) represents an outstanding cross-section of this talent.
This year's student exhibit will be prepared and installed by Cabrillo College student volunteers. This complex installation job includes the tasks of selecting wall colors, pedestal placement, signage, lighting, and the organization of more than 200 works of art. A strong installation of galleries within a gallery will be created highlighting the numerous categories of artwork.
Showcasing a variety of art and technique, (student exhibition 2):The Cabrillo College Student Exhibition will be a celebratory exhibit with something to excite each and every viewer.
