CABRILLO COLLEGE ESTABLISHES HONORS TRANSFER PROGRAM TO HELP
EVEN MORE STUDENTS GET INTO TOP-RANKED UNIVERSITIES

Aptos, CA—Between escalating costs and increasing selectivity, getting into a top-notch four-year university is becoming harder and harder every year. With no end in sight to the continuing budget crisis in California that is a major contributor to this problem, what’s a student or parent to do?

Choose Cabrillo. Smart students and their parents have been choosing Cabrillo for years. Those students save money, receive excellent instruction and then transfer to universities such as UCSC, San Jose State, Georgetown University, Cal-Poly Obispo and UCLA, among many others.

Now with its new Honors Transfer Program, Cabrillo anticipates a significant increase in high-achieving students also choosing Cabrillo more often than before. Students who join Cabrillo’s Honors Transfer Program will get a competitive edge in the admissions selection process when they apply to transfer to the four-year institution of their dreams. Moreover, by 2010 Cabrillo expects to be a member of UCLA’s Transfer Alliance Program, which will give priority to a Cabrillo Honors transfer students.

Starting in the 2008 fall semester, students who meet the minimum qualifications and join the Cabrillo Honors Transfer Program will be able to select from three courses: Western Civilization, Introduction to Government and College Composition. Additional courses will be added each semester to meet student demand.

Honors Transfer Program students receive many additional benefits such as research support from its award-winning library staff, recognition of honors coursework on transcripts and faculty mentors.
