As Its New Vice President of Student Services
APTOS, CA —Cabrillo College welcomes Dennis Bailey-Fougnier as its new vice president of student services. Bailey started his new duties on August 3, replacing Dr. May Kuang-Chi Chen who left to join Berkeley City College.
“Dennis’ twenty-five years of experience in higher education and his focus on student services makes him a tremendous asset to our leadership team at Cabrillo,” stated Cabrillo College President Brian King, “We are delighted to have someone with his vast knowledge and expertise surround student success.”
Bailey-Fougnier was previously vice president of student services at Feather River Canyon College (FRC) for the past three years where he was instrumental in helping the college with accreditation issues and increasing student retention and success. “I am very excited to join Cabrillo's leadership team. Cabrillo’s reputation for offering a quality education was an important reason why I choose to apply,” declared Bailey-Fougnier. “I am passionate about helping students achieve their educational goals and I look forward to helping maintain and enhance Cabrillo’s legacy of excellence and innovation in education.”
Bailey-Fougnier anticipates receiving his Ed.D. in Education from Oregon State University later this year, received his M.Ed. in Counseling and School Psychology from Wichita State University, and his B.S. in Planning, Public Policy & Management from the University of Oregon, Eugene. Bailet-Fougnier is also very proud to be a community college graduate—he received his associate degree from Mesa College in Colorado.
Bailey-Fougnier has been very involved at the national and regional level with issues that effect student success and how colleges serve students. Dennis is an avid snow skier and theater-goer and he loves to travel. He and his partner just returned from a 12-week excursion to the North Cape in Norway.
