Cabrillo Gallery Exhibits Student Artwork
“Student Exhibit 5” Runs May 2 - 27. Reception May 1, 4:00 PM.

Aptos, CA— The Cabrillo Gallery presents the exhibition Student Exhibit 5 May 2 through 27, with an opening reception for the public on Sunday May 1, at 4:00 PM.

This annual exhibition, of over 200 works of art, is the most comprehensive survey of artwork completed by Cabrillo College Art Department students during the spring 2011 semester. Art from all mediums is represented, including paintings, watercolors, mixed media collages, drawings, serigraphs, intaglio, ceramics, sculptures, small-scale metal/jewelry, fiber art, traditional and digital photography, and video. The artwork is selected by students and faculty, and includes up to three works from each studio class. Although only a handful of work is exhibited out of the countless number of very fine student work completed, Student Exhibit 5 represents an outstanding cross-section of student talent.

The annual exhibition is designed and installed by Cabrillo College student volunteers. The complex installation job includes the tasks of selecting wall colors, pedestal placement, signage, lighting, and the organization of more than 200 works of art. An installation of galleries within a gallery will be created highlighting the numerous categories of artwork.

Showcasing a variety of art and technique, Student Exhibit 5 will be a celebratory exhibit with something to excite each and every viewer.
