Hollywood Casting Agent Comes to Cabrillo Theatre Arts Annual High School Workshops
Saturday, September 24, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Cabrillo Crocker Theater Building

APTOS, CA - On Saturday, September 24, the Cabrillo College Theatre Arts Department will host its fifth annual
one-day workshops for high school students, entitled Stage Door, which explore all aspects of theatre. The
event draws over 100 students each year.

This year the popular workshops will host Hollywood casting director Judy Bouley, who will teach a workshop
on successful auditioning. Bouley will share her wisdom and experience to help students gain strong audition
skills which will include keys to successful cold readings for the camera, resume writing and how to choose the
best headshot to submit. As Bouley states, “There is only one you. Take your unique talent and light into the
room. Make the audition truly yours.”

Bouley’s credits span over 25 years as a casting director who has worked nationally and internationally with
some of the world’s finest filmmakers. A thirty year resident of Santa Cruz, Judy began her career casting locally
on The Lost Boys and has since traveled to many countries to cast, including Morocco, India, Bulgaria, Buenos
Aires, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan for such well-known films as Larry Crowne, Polar Express, Road To Perdition,
Bandits, Love and Other Drugs, What Women Want, The Perfect Storm, Basic Instinct, Evita, Contact, and Star Trek
IV, among many others. Judy has taught a number of audition seminars across the country and internationally,
as well as in Santa Cruz. “It’s great fun,” says Bouley. “The kids walk away more aware and typically with new or
refreshed skills.”

The all–day workshops, taught by Cabrillo faculty and visiting artists such as Judy Bouley, promise students
a great time learning new skills and techniques in theatre arts, as well as getting to know other students
who are interested in theatre and sharing information. Students may attend four workshops of their choice
throughout the day.

Workshops are offered in the following areas:

Improvisation
Lighting
Set Design
Props Construction
