Prior to
deciding on these planning assumptions, the Planning and Research Office
(PRO) carried out extensive data and information research to prepare for
Environmental Scanning. The
CMP Task Force reviewed the materials gathered
and developed these assumptions in 7 brainstorm sessions during the past few
months. Planning Assumptions carry policy implications. These implications
become challenges, issues, and targets to which the college needs to respond
through clearly prescribed master plan objectives. Therefore, the tasks
beyond these planning assumptions include finalizing our Master Plan
Objectives based on these planning assumptions.
The actual materials collected and used for environmental scanning came in
two forms: digital files and hard copies. The hard copies alone were 7
inches thick. Therefore this webpage can only report to the reader the major
sources of information utilized by PRO. The office sifted through all the
materials and categorized them as Demographics, the Economy and Employment,
Educational Trends, Social Trends, Public Policy and Technology under the
three main levels of national, state, and local. In the
Planning Assumptions
section, every source has been referenced with special codes that help trace
back to the actual document.
To obtain the actual references, please contact the
PRO office staff. |
