Watsonville Center Master Plan Objectives

 WCMP Objectives

 This is a listing of all eleven objectives for the duration of the plan (2003 – 2006).

1.
Increase the Watsonville area high school graduates’ rate of attending Cabrillo College.

2.
Examine course offerings that better prepare incoming students who lack academic preparation for associate degree and transfer level coursework

3.     Monitor and study the effectiveness of instructional support and other student services at the Watsonville Center in promoting student success and retention

4.     Seek to establish collaborative efforts with 4 year institutions to teach upper division classes at the Watsonville Center to promote transfer

5.     Build course offerings that address shortages and needs in growing segments of the workforce and the learning community

6.     Work with employers to ensure that employment-related basic skills are adequately addressed

7.     Streamline dissemination of information to students regarding services available at the Watsonville Center and additional resources available at the Aptos campus

8.     Identify segments of the population in southern Santa Cruz County that have not traditionally attended the Watsonville Center

9.     Work with community venues to promote services and course offerings available at the Watsonville Center

10.  Work with the City of Watsonville , and businesses neighboring the Watsonville Center , to address the increased demand for parking

11.  Develop a plan to use existing resources to address the needs for childcare
