Deadlines to drop a course

	Spring 2012	Summer 2012	Fall 2012
Last day to drop and receive a reversal of charges or refund of enrollment or transportation fees	February 18 for FULL TERM* (16-week courses)	Day of first class meeting	September 8 for FULL TERM* (16-week courses)
Last day to drop a class without a "W" grade	March 3	Depends on the class, please see instructor	September 10
Last day to drop and receive a "W" grade rather than "F" or "NP"	May 5	Depends on the class, please see instructor	November 17
*SHORT TERM (less than 16 weeks) spring and fall course fees will be reversed only if you have officially withdrawn by 10% of class meetings. This deadline is often the day the class first meets.

Tips on dropping a course

Don't get stuck owing us money for classes you forgot to drop! If you enroll in a class and then change your mind and decide not to attend it, you need to officially drop the class before the refund deadline. Otherwise you will owe us for the fees. We do not automatically drop you from classes you haven't paid for, and an outstanding balance may prevent you from registering again. Please also, see our page on refunds.

Receiving Financial Aid? Before withdrawing or dropping a course, check in with the Financial Aid Office. In some situations, you will be required to pay back financial aid you already received. Learn more about withdrawing and financial aid...
