The Bus Pass is a sticker affixed to your Cabrillo Photo ID card. It lets you ride on all Santa Cruz Metro buses except the Hwy 17 Express.
Beginning with the Spring 2010 semester, the bus pass fee will increase to $75.00. Students registered for 6 units or more are eligible to purchase a Cabrillo bus pass. Students registered in less than 6 units may contact the Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District (SCMTD) directly to purchase a monthly bus pass.
This increase is due to the combination of a rise in the fees charged to Cabrillo College by the SCMTD and the budget cuts imposed on the college by the state government. Cabrillo has subsidized the bus passes for many years. However, due to budget limitations the college can no longer subsidize at the previous rate. An additional increase is projected for the Fall 2010 semester in order to further reduce the Cabrillo subsidy.
The Bus Pass is valid Monday - Saturday beginning the first day of the semester. It is not valid on Sundays, Holidays, and on days the campus is closed.
Bus Passes cannot be mailed. If you are picking up a Bus Pass sticker for someone else, you will need his/her Cabrillo Photo ID as well as a signed letter from him/her giving you permission. Remember to bring a photo ID of yourself, as well.
