Who Needs to Assess

Financial Aid

ABILITY TO BENEFIT (ATB)
for Financial Aid Qualification

 

These tests will assist you in qualifying for Financial Aid. The tests will show the federal government that you have the ability to benefit from college courses.

 

Accuplacer (ATB)
You will take three tests, English, Reading and Arithmetic. This test is untimed. Allow about two to three hours to complete test. Below is a sample test is available for your review.

CELSA (ATB)
This test is only for students enrolling in ESL courses. You will be tested in English Language Skills. This test is timed. Allow one hour and a half to complete test. Below is a sample test is available for your review.

 

SABE (ATB) (Test is given in Spanish)
This test is only for students enrolled in ECE courses taught in Spanish. You will take four tests, Vocabulary (Vocabulario) , Reading Comprehension (Comprehension de lectura), Mathematics Computation (Calculos matematicos), and mathematics Concepts and Applications (Aplicaciones y conceptos matematicos). This test is timed. Allow 3 and a half hours to complete this test. Below is a sample test is available for your review.

 

NOTE:   If you are still in High School, this test will not qualify you for financial aid.

 

To schedule an Appointment:

  •  Call the Assessment Center at 479-6165
  •  Within a three month period, ATB candidates are permitted an initial test and one retest within a two week period. An appointment must be scheduled with the Assessment Center.

 

Requirements:  

  •   Picture ID
  •   Know your social security # or Cabrillo Collage ID #
  •   Sorry, you must make your own arrangements for childcare.
