Student Organizations
Student participation in college governance is important at Cabrillo. Students get involved through Student Senate, Campus Clubs, Athletics, the honor society, Alpha Gamma Sigma, the college newspaper, The Voice, or by serving on campus committees. Career Planning & Job Placement

The Baskin Children's Center
The Center provides half and full day child care and programs for children ages one to five and their families. The Center is also fully integrated with the Early Childhood Education Department on campus. Visit Building 1500 or call 479-6352. MORE >>

Counseling
Academic and career counseling services are widely available to all Cabrillo students in a one-on-one situation or in workshops or courses. Drop-in counseling is also available during certain hours. Disabled Students Program & Services (DSPS)

Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOPS)

For students wishing to quickly gain marketable skills, this program identifies short-term intensive instruction leading directly to employment that is available at Cabrillo. Financial Aid
Grants and loans from the federal and state governments are administered for Cabrillo students through this office. Application forms and other assistance in understanding your elibility and repayment responsibilities may be obtained here also. Learning Skills Program
Diagnostic testing is conducted for learning disabilities and other disorders that may interfere with a student's best performance in coursework. This office is located in the rear wing of the Swenson Library. If interested, please phone 479-6220 MORE >>

Library
Librarians and staff help students find and use the many kinds of information resources available in the Swenson Library such as books, periodicals, CD-ROMs, Internet subscriptions and videotapes. Math Learning Center (MLC)

MESA: Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement
Are you interested in transferring with a major in math, engineering, or a physical or life science? Are you the first generation in your family to attend college? MESA can help you attain your goals. Visit the MESA/MSE Transfer Study Center in Room 714 to find about about the MESA program or to get help with transfer-level mathematics courses. Puente
Special sections of English 100 in fall semesters and English 1A in spring semesters are designated for students in this program. The focus in the English classes is on Chicano literature. Reading Center

Stroke Center
A unique educational program is offered for adults who are stroke survivors or who have other disabling conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, arthritis or brain injuries. A physician's referral is required for admission. Phone 425-0622 for details.

Student Health Services
Medical services and referrals, health counseling, testing services and health education are among the free or low-cost opportunities available to Cabrillo students through this office. Student Rights & Responsibilities
The civil rights of all students is upheld by the college with respect to sex, race, color, national origin, language, religion, age, disability or sexual orientation. If a student suspects these rights have been violated, the opportunity is available to seek resolution of the complaint by procedures outlined and available in Room 904 through the office of the Vice President of Student Services. Students also have the right to refuse any matriculation services including assessment, orientation, and counseling or to file a grievance if these services have been administered in a discriminatory manner. This can be done through the office of the Dean of Student Development in Room 808. MORE >>
