Counseling and Guidance ( CG) classes are offered each
semester to assist you in reaching your educational goals. Students have
found these classes to be very helpful. Some CG classes are designed for
special interests such as athletics, people with disabilities, re-entry
students, MESA program etc. Some examples of CG classes are given below.

CG 1 College Success
Guidance course designed to
intergrade personal growth, learning techniques, academic and career success,
problem solving, critical and creative thinking. Transfers to UC and CSU.

51 Introduction To College
Guidance course designed to acquaint student with college/university requirements,
college services, and educational alternatives. Transfers to CSU.
CG 52 College
Study Skills
A course for the student who wants to learn how to take lecture and reading
notes, master textbooks, manage time, concentrate, pass examinations and
other general college survival skills. Transfers to CSU.
CG 54 Career
Planning
A two part class involving (1) self-analysis and (2) investigation of
the world of work. There is a $7 materials fee for this class. Transfers
to CSU.
CG 205 Academic Survival Skills
Course covers a variety of topics designed to assist
students in developing college survival skills.
