People attend Cabrillo for a variety of reasons. Many community members take classes at Cabrillo for personal enrichment or to enhance job skills.

Cabrillo has a wide variety of Occupational Programs. These are one to two year programs, for training in a specific occupation such as Nursing or Radiologic Technology.

Cabrillo also has Skills Certificates that are one semster in length to meet the needs of students.

Cabrillo also serves as the first two years of a four year College education. Please read on to find out more information on these programs of study.

Academic Programs

Cabrillo College is committed to student success. You may choose to earn an associate degree, transfer to a four-year university, train for a new career, develop job skills, or simply enrich your life.

bulletTransfer and Degree Programs
Cabrillo College provides preparation for transfer to four year colleges and universities. Cabrillo offers two tranferable AA degrees that enable students to transfer having completed all admission and major preparation requirements. For more information click on link above.


Occupational Programs - Cabrillo's occupational programs provide education for entry-level employment as well as skill development in related subjects. Either an associate degree, (AS - generally two-years) or a certificate of proficiency (generally one-year) may be earned. For a listing of occupational programs click on link above.


bulletCertificate Programs
Cabrillo offers certificates in many technical and vocational fields. The Certificate of Proficiency is a program that requires a minimum of 30 semester units including an English course. There are also Skills Certificates that require up to 17 units. The usual time to complete these certificates is from 2 to 3 semesters for full time students.
