Assistive Technology Hardware and Software is available in many locations, listed below. Note: availability can change without notice, so call first if you need to be sure.

Assistive Technology Lab, Room 1402

Hardware: Adjustable workstations, trackballs, noise cancelling headsets for speech recognition, regular audio headsets, large print keyboards, ergonomic keyboards, scanners  (for text), large monitors, and one CCTV for print magnification. Note: Room 1402 is located within the Aptos CTC building, which contains the keyboarding classes, among others.  AT hardware and software is also available in the main area of the CTC.

Software: Dragon NaturallySpeaking, JAWS, Magic, ZoomText Magnifier/Reader, Kurzweil 3000 Professional w/scanner and LearnStation, ClaroRead,TextAloud, and commercially available software such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, etc.

Requesting Assistive Technology Accommodations

Most computer classrooms and labs have accessibility features, including large monitors and ZoomText. Some classrooms and labs have adjustable workstations. If you need a specific assistive technology accommodation for a course, please contact the Assistive Technology Specialist at 477-5262 or DSPS at 479-6379 to make a request.
