Strong Workforce Program Rollout

Cabrillo’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs equip students with technical and career skills to help them get started in their careers, improve their skills set, and transfer to 4-year institutions. The Strong Workforce Program funding realizes the importance of  CTE programs in improving the strength of our local and regional workforce. In November, we are working on developing plans to increase enrollment and improve on other outcome metrics of the Strong Workforce Program (SWP). For more information on the SWP outcomes, please see the Doing What Matters website. Cabrillo CTE programs need to submit their SWP application by November 19. The link to the application was sent via email. If you need a reminder, please contact your CTE Dean.

College and Career Night 2016

Cabrillo CTE faculty came out in force to promote their programs at College & Career Night on November 7th! The attendees, our local high school students, learned about the opportunities Cabrillo offers and how High School Regional Occupational Program's course offerings feed into Cabrillo and result in well-paying jobs. Students also learned about concurrent enrollment, admissions processes and financial aid. In addition, Matt Weis and Gerlinde Brady held a workshop on work based learning. Thanks to all who participated!
