Informational workshops on financial aid resources at community colleges and universities will be presented by financial aid staff from Cabrillo College, UC Santa Cruz, and CSU Monterey Bay.

What kind of aid is available?
  • The Board of Governor's Enrollment Fee Waiver (BOG) assists California Residents with mandatory Registration fees.
  • Federal Pell Grant. Annual Award: $200-$4,050. Pell grants are based on financial need and enrollment status.
  • Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG). Average Annual Award: $400. This federal program provides limited grant funding on a first-come, first-serve basis to students who meet the March 2nd priority filing deadline.
  • Cal Grants. State Grants for California Residents $576-$1551.
  • Federal Work-Study (FWS). Standard annual award: $4000. This is an award to work in a job on campus or off-campus for a public or non-profit agency.
  • Federal Family Education Loans. Loans must be repaid. Cabrillo recommends that students borrow only when it is absolutely necessary.
