Counselors at Cabrillo have been assigned to five clusters based on occupational and major groupings. The clusters are:
Science & TechnologyArts & Communications
Health & Human Services
Business & Computer Science
Social Science
The following web page details the clusters and identifies the counselors assigned to the clusters:Some clusters have more students associated with them and some less. Because of this some counselors are assigned to multiple clusters. The clusters are similar to the occupational pathways.
Although all counselors at Cabrillo are generalists these clusters give the opportunity for cross training. The advantage for the student is that they are no longer limited to one counselor when they are seeking information for a specific major.
Within each cluster there will be a counselor designated as the Lead Faculty. There is an expectation that clusters meet as needed to cross train and share relevant information.
An additional goal of each cluster will be to achieve counselor participation in as many occupational advisory committees as possible. Each cluster should identify the advisory committees that are related to their respective majors, and designate counselors to those advisory committees.
