Shared Governance 4.10

Counselors, along with all Cabrillo College faculty, participate in shared governance across all areas of College decision-making. Counselors are encouraged to serve on campus wide committees designed to distribute decision making in a fair and equitable manner regarding such issues as hiring, curriculum, student rights and responsibilities, and working conditions. Counseling faculty contribute a unique perspective, expertise and set of skills to discussion and implementation of policies regarding these issues. A sample but not exhaustive list of opportunities to participate in shared governance is as follows:
